ABOUT US
This includes a whole range of entertainment; from tribute and original musical acts, pantomimes, ballets, choir, band and dance school events, comedy shows and local community theatre
Built as the Assembly Hall for Penistone in 1914, the Penistone Paramount celebrates its 110th year entertaining audiences in November 2024.
The building is still owned by Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council but the business is operated by Penistone Town Council, and run by a team of dedicated staff.
Our Auditorium
Our auditorium has two seating areas:
1. Circle:
- Our Circle seating is located upstairs.
- There are approximately 25 steps leading up to the circle.
- Due to the age and layout of the building, we don't have a lift.
2. Stalls:
- Our stalls seating is located on our ground floor.
- NB: there are steps up to our main entrance but we have a separate accessible entrance which is step-free and provides level access to the stalls.
- In our stalls, we also have 6 positions for wheelchairs.
Cinema Organ:
Maintained by the Penistone Cinema Organ Trust (led by Kevin Grunill), we're really proud to have such a fine piece of history within our walls.
Details of all organ concert/performance dates are listed under our Live Events section.
